Summertime Is Almost Past and Gone - Seems like it just started, but alas, it's almost past. But we have a few more hurrahs before the shorter days return, and we hope you'll be able to include some live bluegrass in yours!

Sam's Is Our Steady - Third Tuesday of the month is rolling around again, which means we'll almost certainly to be playing at Sam's BBQ in San Jose. We love playing here! Great food, great seats, great venue... and great music. We'll be playing this month (August 19th) with special guests Jim and Louise Mintun, on Dobro (or resophonic guitar) and bass, respectively. A little country, a little bluegrass, a lot of quality live music. More details on the Calendar Page.

Our Cabin SubDudes - Thanks to our great friends and musical pals who sit in with us each occasionally at our gigs and shows, including Phil Cornish (mandolin), Jon McNeill (bass), Dave Magram (banjo), Dave Walker (bass), and Hide Kawatsure (mandolin). Always a pleasure pickin' with them!

Bryan Is a Married Man - Congrats to our fiddle player and his bride Lisa as they're off to Cabo for a honeymoon suite - or is that a sweet honeymoon? Their wedding was earlier this month here in the South Bay, and folks were bawling left and right...

Larry Is a Happy Man - Why is he smiling? An old banjo that sounds this beautiful would make any person smile... well, sorta. Hint - it's older than his parents (less maintenance, too), and it'll knock the squirrels from the trees at over 300 feet - but they'll be smiling with delight as they fall! He thinks it's the finest pre-war banjo he's ever played/heard. We don't disagree. More info on the Band Page and come check it out in person. It goes to eleven!

See You at Fall Strawberry - 'Cause that's where we'll be at the end of this month; it's, like, our favorite festival. 'Cause she's all like, "I can't wait," and I'm all like, "It's so much fun," and she's like, "Killer jams in camp, Dude," and I'm all like, "Well, yaawh, no kidding, duh," and she's all like, "Well, totally, duh." See you there!

Only Somewhat Related - Larry and Phil Cornish perform are members of the bluegrass band Bound to Ride which will be performing at the Anderson Marsh Bluegrass Festival in Lake County on September 13 & 14. Check them out, c'mon down, you may see a familiar face or three. And, if you just happen to be in upstate Washington in late August, Larry will also be judging the North Cascades Oldtime Fiddlers Contest on the 23rd, bring your favorite large insect! www.methowet.com/fiddle
